Contracting the virus.

Contracting the virus.

Contracting a virus is easy, removing it is not so easy. There are many more ways to getting a virus than just watching porn now. They are sent through emails and other forms of communication. They are made to still your passwords to bank accounts and personal files. They are also made to spy on a person or just to annoy you. Viruses are easy to get under control using the following virus removal method.

Common Symptoms.

You will definitely know when the computer is infected. Annoying pop-ups to buy products or even naughty girls in your side screen. The PC will start to run slower then ever and some programs will not respond. Your PC will shut down with out you instructing it. The worst symptoms sometimes to no return will be that blue screen of death.

Start the cleanup.

This needs to be done in safe mode. Remove all cookies and cache in your PC. It may be easier to use a clean up scan. Continue to remove all temp files and those prefetch files. You can find the prefetch folder by doing a search within windows or by typing in the run box.

Other unwanted programs.

In the add/remove list located in the control panel, uninstall other programs. Sometimes the virus comes in on a program that was installed. This is another trick to help free up hard drive space and will help your computer run faster. When uninstalling old programs, unused registry entries will be removed.

Full scan of PC.

Now run an anti-virus scan on your PC. You should still be in safe mode. Leave your computer alone at this time to make sure it uses less resources and removes everything. Once its finished make sure to get rid of all instances of the virus. There should be a remove all button after the scan.

My browser was hijacked.

When your browser gets hijacked run a Trojan or hijack remover. A good example of one is the smitfraudfix. When its finished running take out everything it found. Its good to reset your browser settings. And don’t forget to uninstall unwanted toolbars and pop up blockers. Too many at one time will cancel each other out.

Is the Virus still present?

Advanced users can actually do more. If there is still a problem, do a search for the virus in the registry. Be very careful because this is the brains of the computer. Remove all associated keys found with this search. You can also do a search for those files in windows or in the hard drive. Then you can go through the start up files located in msconfig and disable some of them. Do not let it happen again.

Protect yourself from these no good viruses.

A good anti-virus or firewall protection will help make your surfing healthier. Remember some key points in virus removal and it wont happen again. Try not to have too many programs running at the same time, they will cancel each other out. Always scan any files before downloading.
