For example, don’t allow them to simply drop in any time they want to. This is a violation of your rights, and you are allowed to shut the door on them and not let them in. Even if your house is clean, it’s still not a good idea to let them enter, because now they’ll feel it’s their right to come into what is essentially your home unannounced. It’s a violation of your personal space.
Landlords, if your renters are hurting your property, paying rent late or in some way behaving in a negative way, it’s important that you stick to the legal options you have available. Testing these limits, for example by giving threatening phone calls to the tenants who are hurting your property, can be used against you at a later date. Think properly about what you should do to get the tenants out or treating the place well.
We don’t often consider that land owning is quite a strange idea. For some reason, humans have decided that through the giving of green pieces of paper, we can determine that an area of land is now a part of a single person. Maybe it’s worth taking a step back and look at the ridiculousness of the whole situation before worrying too much about whether your renter or owner is giving you trouble.
